2010 NFC & AFC Championship predictions

January 23rd, 2010 by i2iGUY
You cant win if you dont play

You cant win if you don't play

Last week I found the promised land raking in over $400 in parlay winnings ! This week I plan on re-investin my winnins’ to ride the gravy train to the Superbowl.

Take the Jets

Take the Jets

Colts -7.5 over/under 39.5
Payback is a bitch. As everyone knows, the Jets shouldn’t even be in the playoffs. The Jets shouldn’t have beaten the Bengals and they sure as hell shouldn’t have beaten the Chargers last week in San Diego ! Now as they head into the AFC Championship against the Colts, who should be undefeated, the Jets are still the under dogs and expected to collapse. The Colts of all people, know they should not be playing the Jets, but THEY ARE. The Colts committed the ultimate sin in pro sports of not “playing to win”. The bad mojo they conjured up from this mistake is still hanging around stinking up the playoffs. The mojo won’t be removed until the Colts go down in flames as atonement for their act of self preservation. Amazingly, the extra rest and recuperation they got from “not playing to win” and having an extra week off seems to be for naught. When I looked as the injury report, it was littered with Colt’s players nicked and banged up from their battle with the Ravens.
So take the Jets and the over.

All glory to the purple and gold.

All glory to the purple and gold.

Saints -3.5 over/under 52.5

Maybe the most amazing story in the NFL is the Saints worst to first rise this year. The fans in New Orleans are rabid, from longterm deprivation of playoff success, so the Superdome will be rockin. As amazing as their story is, there is a trajic element to it with the final three week collapse of the team. Going 0-3 prior to entering the playoffs is a dark premonition of their future in the playoffs. Bad mojo is hard to overcome, just ask the Colts and their fans after their team goes down in flames. The Saint’s sins were not as atrocious as the Colts, but going into the playoffs as losers is BAD MOJO. As captivating as the Sain’ts story is this season, the one story that out shines them is the story of Brett Farve. His comeback from retirement and competitive spirit embody all that is good about pro-sports. Watching him and the Vikings singing “pants on the ground” in the locker room after their improbable win over the Cowboys last week made me a believer.
Take the Vikings and the under.

Final note *

A Superbowl of Vikings versus the Jets couldn’t be any better. A game featuring a team that shouldn’t be there with a rookie (youngest) QB at the helm against a team with a living legend at the helm (oldest QB), who defied all the odds playing for a new team in an effort to win one last championship. The only thing standing in his way is the team he left because he felt they could not get him to the big game. Talk about irony ! Now that’s the kind of drama we want in a Superbowl.

The new Camelot

January 21st, 2010 by i2iGUY
The hope for a better tomorrow

The hope for a better tomorrow

King Arthur was the savior figure who fought the dark forces that were afflicting the land and established a new utopia called Camelot, where the concept of a “Round Table” was the corner stone for the idea of equality and unity. Bi-partisan cooperation that could over come all obstacles. There was no red, no blue, only the best and most corageous knights were selected to sit at the table.

Bi-partisanship over 1000 years ago

Can we all just get along ?

This vision has been a common vision among many people, and even in the United States of America. In our democracy, we as a nation have seen good and bad days. Our nation has had the good fortune to elect some of the greatest leaders in history. Our representative form of government is supported by a two party system that represents the full spectrum and wisdom of the people. However, even in our great country, our own government has been subjected to the dark forces and the dynamics of red vs blue has led to vitriol politics, gridlock, quid-pro-quo, and corruption. In hopes of a more perfect union, a better tomorrow, the utopian vision of Camelot found a home back in the 60’s with the presidency of Jack Kennedy.

JFK

JFK

England had King Aurther and America had it’s hero in Kennedy. His vision of hope and change, had Americans believing in a better day for the country. Young, strong, handsome and full of promise, our president created a new Camelot with his families estate in Massechusetts. With his beautiful wife and first lady, Jaqueline at his side, his presidency took on an air of royalty and destiny. The America that Kennedy resided over with the “American dream” in the heart of all Americans, anything was possible, even going to the moon.

American royalty

American royalty

Unfortunately, the utopia that Camelot brought was short lived, with the tragic assasination of our president. The torch of the Camelot vision was carried by Jack’s brothers, who respectfully served their country as they saw fit. The death of Bobby Kennedy and the death of Teddy Kennedy in 2009 brought an end to the final tragic chapter in the saga and an end to dream of Camelot.

Knights of the round table.

Knights of the round table.

Unfortunately, As the years went by the vision of Camelot that Kennedy and most Americans had slowly vanished and was corrupted. The Lion of the senate, Ted Kennedy was not the same man his brother Jack was. Although he fought for many good causes, his views and alliances had fallen prey and into the clutches of the dark forces in America. Big government, and the shady doings of sinister leaders in the congress had led to the creation of a monster of epic proportions. This dragon of legislation was known as “health care reform” and it was designed to take control and crush the liberty and freedom that had been the bedrock of social development here.

The darkside

The darkside

With our country embroiled in a “War on terror”, facing financial crisis, inflation, and major unemployment, a dark cloud had settled over the country and the people. Once again our country was looking for a savior, a new King Arthur, a new Kennedy. The country wants to believe there are better days ahead. The election of our first “Black” president, Barack Obama, had many believing that the savior had arrived, but now a full year later, many who had believed in his “hope and change” were desperately dissapointed as his programs proved ineffective, his promises, hollow, and his leadership lacking. Obama was not King Arthur, Obama was not Jack Kennedy. Was Camelot gone ?

A better future ahead ?

A better future ahead ?

History has a way of repeating itself, and yesterday January 19th, 2010, a new saga was started. A new Camelot may have arrived. From the smoldering ashes of the Kennedy legacy, a most unlikely hero surfaced named Scott Brown. Against all odds he won the senate seat that had been held for over 40 years by Ted Kennedy. His campaign promise was to slay the dragon, Kennedy had helped create with the help of Pelosi and Reid. The people of Massechusetts and the whole nation had a breath of fresh air, a new hope, with the dashing Brown.
Is Scott Brown our new king Arthur, or our new Kennedy ? Healthcare is pronounced dead upon his election to office. He may or may not be King Arthur or Kennedy, but he is a knight of the round table. His commitment to fight for the people, to be guided by his concience and by whats right for America, and his commitment to work in a bi-partisan manner beyond shades of red and blue, show he deserves a seat at the table. The people’s seat. He is Sir Lance a Scott !
Who is worthy to wield the sword ?

Who is worthy to wield the sword ?

Is this the ressurgance of Camelot ? With all eyes now turning to the 2010 mid term elections and focus of the 2012 presidencial election looming on the horizon as well, the American people are looking for a savior. Who will be worthy to wield the sword of power in the U.S. ? President Obama, can still be our king Arthur. With the election of Sir Lance a Scott aka. Senator Brown, maybe the dark forces can be vanquished and Obama’s political soul can be rescued from the clutches of progressive thinking. Unfortunately Obama’s chances are getting fewer and fewer and soon he will have to step up and show us if he is worthy. If he is able to pull the sword out of the rock. If not, there are other candidates, both democrat, republican, independant, and Tea party that will surely give it a try. Camelot will rise on the hopes and promise of the true savior. One that understands how to bring the unity, direction, and integrity to the white house that our country needs. Who is worthy ?
